Antica Dimora, originating from the expertise restructuring of an 1800’s Aristocratic palazzo, is a maison de charme situated on the Pisan hills, in the Middle Ages historical quarter of Palaia, just a few kilometres from Volterra and San Miniato. The patient restructuring work has kept the original elements unaltered in the succession of environments having a refined atmosphere; with terracotta flooring, stone fire places, vaults and arches with visible stone work. The thirteen rooms are furnished with period furniture, valuable pieces of antiques among which antique prints and paintings; while on the ceiling and walls, original frescos dating back to the 1800’s can still be admired. The abundant breakfast consisting of cheeses, Tuscan salamis, home made cakes and marmalades, is served in the room attained from the ancient stable or, under the centenarian wisteria in the garden in front of the Romanesque parish Church of S. Martino, positioned amongst olive groves and cypress trees.
