Traditionally furnished and stylish, it provides a large swimming pool and easy access to the holiday attractions of central Italy.The structure was a large farmhouse restored in 2003 and subdivided into apartments, which, although maintaining the original atmosphere of arches and natural stone, offer the maximum of modern comfort and efficiency. From Il Poggiolo you can enjoy a 360° degree view over the surrounding green lands. No other houses are in sight; your eyes will run free from Mount Amiata in the South, all the way across the Crete and the Chianti Hills to Siena and the Colline Metallifere in the North-West.The property, surrounded by a pleasant garden, with an area given over to olive trees is situated 3 km from Castelnuovo Berardenga in the heart of Chianti Classico, 18 km from Siena. Il Poggiolo is easily reachable from Castelnuovo via a marvellous gravel road that runs through a few hills cultivated with vineyards.The house is in an oasis of silence and peace and its position is extremely convenient as it offers countless opportunities for excursions, both by car and on foot. The area is criss-crossed by wonderful rides for bikes or horses. There are many well-known places which are ideal for one-day outings, from Siena and Florence, to Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra. Smaller but equally delightful centres include Montalcino, worth visiting for its St.Antimo Monastery as well as for its Brunello wine, Montepulciano and Pienza. Finally, only a few kilometres away you can find the beautiful thermal baths of Rapolano, Bagni Vignone and Petriolo.Our apartment is on the ground floor with immediate access to the garden and to the car park. It is composed of a full kitchen with fridge and oven, one bedroom (double bed + single bed), one bedroom (double bed + sofa bed), small sitting room (sofa + TV) and bathroom (shower and toilet).Furthermore the apartment enjoys a nice courtyard directly accessible from the kitchen furnished with a large table and a support to provide shade in summer. The house has independent heating and a small safe for your valuables. All the utilities are brand new.
