This is a small castle, just restored, 1000 year old site of a Roman outpost, five terraces, incredible breathtaking panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside, mountains, seaside, isle of Gorgona and gulf of Portovenere, in the heart of the most creative artistic area in Italy, the Apuan mountains and the marble caves of Carrara, the sculpture stone studios and bronze art foundries of Pietrasanta where world-wide artists, like Botero and Mitoraj, just to name a few, come to work.The castle comprises two apartments connected by a garden. They are equipped with hi-tech facilities, interior decoration with the best modern Italian designed furniture. The property is surrounded by an antique wall and olive groves. The apartments are surrounded by green gardens with fruit trees and flowers, there is also a vegetable garden where, in the summer, are grown fresh tomatoes, salad, onions, cucumbers, string beans, courgettes, eggplants, peppers, basil, etc.There is an above ground pool, five terraces, one of which is a wonderful sun deck with a sun worshipping mosaic. Terraces and gardens are fully equipped with sun deck chairs, umbrella, tables and chairs, barbeque, etc.The castle is only 3 minutes walk on an old stone road through the very quiet old village of Monteggiori, beautiful walking paths outside the village. In order to bring up luggage and shopping we have a trucked vehicle which the lady in charge of the house can drive Medieaval village, it is located in front of the Tyrrhenian sea, the Apuan Alps at the back.
