Property description
Just a half hour's drive from Siena, Canonica is set in the scenic heart of the Tuscan countryside where the famous Chianti wines are produced. Built in the Middle Ages as a monastery and summer villa for the archbishop of Siena, the villa is now part of an estate where wine and olive oil are produced. Rooms once used by monks have been converted into charming modern apartments." Three apartments are available to guests, each with its own bathroom, kitchen and fireplace. Although the décor is distinct in each apartment, it remains faithful to the traditional Tuscan style. The Historical House offers the quiet delights of long, uninterrupted walks through the countryside. It is also a short drive away from the warm pleasures of thermal baths in the town of Rapolano where guests can relax after an active day in the sun. The villa's central location is perfect for day trips by car to San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Montepulciano and other charming fortified towns for which Tuscany is famous.
